Medicare
If you have a Chronic Disease Management Plan as organised by your GP, your rebate is $61.75 per session from 1 July 2025. You can arrange your Medicare rebate via Medicare Express phone App or via My Gov website.

Example-
An initial 60 min consultation (under the Medicare chronic disease management scheme) of $190 would be followed by a rebate of $61.75 from 1 July. You will be ‘out of pocket’ $128.25 ($190-$61.75).
A follow-up consultation of $95 would be followed with a rebate of $61.75, which means you will be $28.25 'out of pocket'.

Private Health Insurance
Most private health funds offer coverage for Dietitian/Nutrition services as a component of their extras cover, depending on the actual product. If you are unsure of your coverage, we recommend contacting your health fund to see whether you are eligible. Dietitian service item numbers are 500 for initial appointment and 600 for subsequent appointment.

Claiming the Rebates
Once payment is made to SC Nutrition, you will receive a paid invoice via email. You can take this to Medicare or your private health fund (depending on level of cover) for rebate.

NDIS
If you are a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participant, your Dietitian service may be funded through the NDIS. Depending on your NDIS plan, services may be funded under Improved Daily Living and Health and Wellbeing. SC Nutrition accepts Plan Managed and Self Managed NDIS participants. See our NDIS page here.
