I see that SC Nutrition offer home visits. Is there any travel fee?

- For NDIS clients: Your NDIS plan will cover the travel fee in full. There is no cost to the participant. For transparency, travel fees are calculated in accordance to the NDIS price arrangement and price limits.  Any travel fee will be set out clearly in our service agreement and will be listed in the invoice as separate item for clarity.

- For iCare clients: Your iCare plan will cover the travel fee in full. There is no cost to the client. Travel fees varies depending on your location. All travels are calculated from Waitara (for Sydney clients) or Copacabana (for Central Coast clients). Travel fees are calculated based on professional dietitian rate i.e. $190/hour. It will be discussed with your case manager and listed as separate line on the invoice  (which is sent to iCare, not to the client) for clarity.

- For all other clients: travel fee applies. Please contact us for availability and quote.

Rebates

Once payment is made, you will receive a paid invoice via email. You can take this to Medicare or your private health fund (depending on level of cover) for rebate. Medicare rebate is $61.75 per session from 1 July 2025.  You can arrange your Medicare rebate via Medicare Express phone App or via My Gov website.

Example- An initial 60 min consultation (under the Medicare chronic disease management scheme) of $190 would be followed by a rebate of $61.75 from 1 July. You will be ‘out of pocket’ $128.25 ($190-$61.75). A follow-up consultation of $90 would be followed with a rebate of $61.75, which means you will be $28.25 'out of pocket'.

Do you provide meal plans?
Many people ask me this. The short answer is yes as part of our session as a discussion and teaching tool.

Sample meal plan works well in early stage of learning as it puts all the knowledge in practice. To follow a meal plan cuts down on decision making at each meal time.

That said, meal plans do have some downsides:

  • They can feel restrictive and don’t always fit the needs of others in the household;

  • Seasonal changes and food availability can make them hard to stick to. We have all forgotten to defrost our ingredients;

  • Most people find them difficult to follow long-term;

  • Sometimes we just don't feel like what is on the meal plan on that day.

At SC Nutrition, you will learn the knowledge, skills and confidence to plan meals suitable for your health. This way, you can enjoy flexible, realistic, and sustainable eating habits that suit your lifestyle, food preferences, and nutrition needs.

For those who prefer more structure, I do offer personalised meal plans as an optional, fee-based service. Fees varies depends on the number of days and meals required. This ensures you get both the guidance you need and the flexibility to make it work in real life. Starting price is
