Food of the month: Finger lime

I came across these finger limes in Harris Farm the other day. It came in a pack of 15 so that was my new food of the week.

Each of these lime is a size of an adult thumb. When we got home, we cut them sideway and the fruit is actually quite dry. The little pulps come out cleanly when you squeeze the fruit.

It has to be the most interesting fruit I have ever tasted. It is like those sour popping lollies but much tastier. We decided to try it with a chickpea salad and it was quite a good combination.

With my very limited knowledge of this fruit, I will have to say that I will definitely use it again and maybe I will try making some cordial or maybe try it with tea, like lemon?
